Ever since the Roma people migrated to Europe from India some 800 years ago, we have enjoyed a well-deserved reputation as healers, herbalists, seers and workers of magic. Our tradition of herbalism, in the Romani language dravengripen, draws on our Indian heritage of Ayurveda but also includes plants that we encountered on our long overland journey to Europe, making it unique in the world.

The three most respected roles in a traditional Roma clan are the Chovahāni (magic worker, wise-woman), Sastimeskri (healer and midwife) and Dravengri (herbalist), and very often all three roles are held by one elder woman with a particular talent for such work.

The Sastimeskri range of products are formulated by Roma elder Chandani, who has held all three roles for many years and comes from a centuries-long lineage of expert healers. She is known and respected by Roma clans all over Europe.

The Sastimeskri range of products is a new project aimed at bringing the power of traditional Roma herbalism to the general public; more products will be added soon.

All of our products are fully Vegan, and made from the highest quality organically grown pure plant extracts. No synthetic ingredients of any sort are used and our products are not tested on animals.

Our first product is Insect Repellent, a totally natural and skin-friendly alternative to chemical repellents and far more effective than other natural repellents such as citronella. It has a pleasant, fresh aroma, moisturises the skin, and is long-lasting and economical in use. It is available either in liquid form, in a handy and refillable pump-action dispenser, or as a cream which is water-resistant so that it does not easily wash off if you are swimming.
